Not all migrants and refugees arriving in Europe are destitute, without assets and resources> They know how to organise themselves. They set up new (internet based) systems to support each other also in setting up new businesses
But we do not see those new development and mechanisms, we are not that well informed about it, we cannot visualize it, and many existing programmes and policies do not reflect such neither.
Time for reflection. Hence this event, where we create space to meet, talk, converse, investigate and discuss
- how migrant entrepreneurs might finance their new venture;
- how they can make use of existing formal and informal financing mechanisms
- how they can make use of mainstream facilities, and
- how special mechanisms might be relevant, needed and desirable.
A place to build up new networks as well
Existing organizations, projects and programmes are given a platform to show what they are doing. We will do so be creating a market space where idea is offered and idea- hungry, interested persons have a chance to be get information about approaches that they might use in their owned environment. Leading, thought provoking professionals and practitioners are given the floor to share their ideas; brief, catchy pitches and brief talks, to confuse, to open eyes, to give that little push into the direction people already wanted to go in.
On 21st June the EMEN community of practices will organise post-conference sessions . For more information go to http://emen-project.eu/
